Stepfather is jailed for 100 years after video of him drowning stepdaughter at hotel is releasedf

South America was outraged after seeing the CCTV footage of the man identified as Jose David N and his step daughter. He is seen throwing the girl into the water while people nearby just leave the area. The video was shot at a hotel swimming pool in the city of Morelia, in the south-western Mexican state of Michoacan in August 2015. He repeatedly threw his stepdaughter into the swimming pool knowing that she could not swim, and then acted surprised after being told that she had drowned.

However, the video footage proved enough to convict him and see him jailed with no possibility of parole. After deliberation, judges Juan Salvador Alonso Mejia, Ana Lilia Garcia Cardona and Noe Reyes Millan found him guilty of killing her. The incident took place on 12th August 2015. The man was recorded throwing the girl repeatedly in the swimming pool while her mother was sleeping in the hotel room. He can also be seen dragging her hair under the water and not allowing her to breath properly, while the girl was trying to swim but did not know how to.The judge Garcia Cardona, who read the sentence, said that not only did the man throw the toddler into the pool several times, he even dragged her hair under the water and held her tiny body in such a position in the water that she was unable to breathe. The defence had tried to suggest that the little girl had died outside the pool and not in the water, but this was rejected by the judges.

UK’s biggest cyber fraudster raked in £113million after scamming 750 businesses

How about a round of applause or a standing ovation for this guy, someone needs to apologize to us Nigerians that have been dubbed scam country. This dude has scammed enough for a whole country. SILVER-tongued Feezan “Fizzy” Choudhary 25 was dubbed The Voice by police after scamming 750 businesses out of £113million. He used Scottish, Welsh or posh English accents to pose as an official from a bank’s fraud department to persuade employees to give him vital security details over the phone.

Huge amounts would then be transferred from accounts, often in seconds. An army of around 1,000 mules laundered it within hours in amounts small enough not to raise suspicions. It was the UK’s biggest ever cyber fraud. At the height of the scam it raked in up to £2million a week. These guys are merciless.

Choudhary went on the run when he realised the game was up and tried to fly to Pakistan from Paris in November. It was the day of the ISIS terror outrages in the city, and he was nicked using a fake passport minutes after the first attack. Earlier this year his Bentley was firebombed outside his home in Pollokshields, Glasgow, after he was accused of having an affair with another criminal’s wife. Choudhary admitted conspiracy to defraud and conspiracy to launder money and was jailed for 11 years. Fiancee Nadeem admitted money laundering at an earlier hearing and was jailed for 20 weeks in May. Choudhary’s brother Nouman, 22 — who acted as the gang’s accountant, investing money in properties in Scotland and Pakistan — was yesterday given 3½ years after admitting conspiracy to launder money. In total another four accomplices were given suspended sentences while six others were jailed for between 21 months and five years for various fraud charges.

 

Mint worker smuggles out 100,000 pounds worth of gold by putting it in his butthole

That was bound to happen sooner or later, he cant be seeing all those gold bars daily without wanting to own some. Leston Lawrence, aged 35, appeared in court after a bank worker noticed he was depositing a lot of cheques from Ottawa Gold Buyers. He had apparently been taking small gold ‘pucks’ to sell the gold buyer regularly, each worth just over £5,000 – but the bank teller became suspicious when she noticed he worked at the mint (I don’t know why some people can’t just mind their businesses and let other people prosper). An Ottawa court hearing heard Lawrence had set off a metal detector at work more often than most employees, but that security guards had never found anything when they searched him with a wand. Investigators found a jar of Vaseline in his locker, the court heard, as well as four Mint-style pucks in his safety deposit box.

He reportedly no longer works for the Canadian Mint. Prosecutors alleged he could have used the lubricant to conceal the gold in his anal cavity. However, his defense team said there were no markings on the gold pucks he was found with to prove if they had come from the Mint. They also pointed out that no gold had been reported stolen, Vancouver Sun reported.

Adidas shows off the first shoe made at its robot factory

 

Last last year, Adidas began rolling out its plans for Speedfactory, a set of robot-staffed manufacturing facilities located in Germany and, soon, the US. Today, the sportswear giant revealed the first silhouette developed through this new project, known as Futurecraft M.F.G. It’s a sleek running shoe that features Adidas’ trademark Primeknit upper and Boost midsole, similar to what you see on popular models like Kanye West’s Yeezy 350s.

While there is some human assistance during the assembly process, as shown in the video below, the majority of the crafting is done by the machines. What’s more, the design itself relies heavily on data from ARAMIS, a motion capture technology that maps an individual’s skin, bone and muscle to create a more comfortable shoe. Adidas says the M.F.G. (aka “Made for Germany”) is only the beginning, with more products expected to come over the next few months. The company has been pushing the envelope with its Futurecraft line recently, which also includes sneakers made partially with 3D-printed materials.

Only 500 pairs will be available for an undisclosed price. I wasn’t even holding my breath for this shoe, it is beautiful and I’m sure most people consider it shoe porn but they lost me at “500 pairs”, if there are only going to be 500 pairs it means the shoe would be ridiculously expensive and my economy doesnt not permit me to own one of these, infact my president could order my arrest if he hears this shoe has been sighted in my vicinity, not to mention my bank account that is on life support so no thank you.

America Got Talent winner Grace Vanderwaal now labelmates with Beyonce after signing with Colombia records

This 12 year old is a shining star, I did a post when she won because like I said my family watched this past season of AGT from the beginning to the end and it ended on the 14th of this month. We’ve loved her from the beginning, she came out on her first audition really shy and sang a song she wrote and it earned her a golden buzzer. She won the competition, singing just songs she wrote so you see how talented this lil mama is. The 12-year-old who beat out magicians and stunt professionals to claim the NBC show’s most recent title, took home $1 million and a confirmed Las Vegas show series as part of her prize package. And yesterday (September 21) came even more good news for Vanderwaal: she’s been signed to Columbia Records, Billboard confirmed. Now, Beyonce, Adele and One Direction are just a few of her labelmates.

“It’s a lot to take in, but I’ve got to hand it to her,” AGT judge Simon Cowell told Billboard. “She’s a very smart, calm, focused girl and I think she knows what she wants to achieve and what we always say to artists in this situation is it’s not a race.” Cowell added that there’s “a much, much bigger announcement coming soon,” but for now, Vanderwaal’s focused on her upcoming Vegas shows. She’ll perform three sets at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino between October 27 and October 29. The Clairvoyants, AGT‘s second-place magicians and Tape Face, the show’s mime comedian finalist, will join her.

New Girl

For my fellow Nigerians reading the blog, I know we’re in a recession and you’ve only got money on your mind but You Only Live Once (YOLO) so why not enjoy and relax a little, so instead of going to the bar and spending money that you’ll regret later, stay home and watch these series I want to tell you about, lol. This September is really a time to be alive, all our favorite series are back and between work, school and life I don’t know how we can keep up. Series like Empire and New girl are back with new seasons and for my Empire lovers, i can’t hold in this spoiler. Somebody dies on Empire in the first episode, remember someone fell off the balcony in the last episode of Season 2? Yeah, Rhonda is dead.

Chris Brown Off the hook for pointing a gun at Baylee Curran

Yes! I’m not supporting violence against women but we’re not even sure if they was any violence to begin with, she has changed her story so many times that I feel sorry for her. She’s made her story more dramatic with every telling not to mention the text she sent to a friend saying she’ll set Chris up and say he pointed a gun to her head. Did i mention, no gun was found on the premises? That too. And for the alleged standoff with the police, CB’s lawyer found out they didn’t have a warrant to enter the house and told them they had to get one hence the cops who were already at Chris’ house had to camp outside and wait till they got a warrant before they could enter the house, which is what the media (which includes me) termed a standoff.

Chris Brown, 27, may have just gotten VERY lucky, according to his lawyer, Mark Geragos, 58. The controversial singer who was arrested on Aug. 30 after allegedly pointing a gun at houseguest Baylee Curran, 25 was supposed to appear in court on Sept. 20 for an arraignment. But get this, guys the authorities not only missed that deadline, but they also haven’t presented the file to the district attorney, TMZ reported. Maybe they didn’t have any case? Authorities, however, were quick to share THEIR side of the story. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that authorities were TOTALLY devoted to the investigation. They even got the arraignment date to be extended 15 days, so that police could finish their findings and give the case to prosecutors. All this time and you haven’t finished your findings? Interesting.

Mark and Chan Zuckerberg to invest $3billion to cure disease

If they can invest .000000001 of that money in my life…….you know the rest. Oh well, so Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg launched the Chan Zuckerberg Initiativelast year with his wife, Priscilla Chan, in an effort to try to “advance human potential and promote equality for all children in the next generation.” The two pledged to donate 99 percent of their Facebook shares which is worth upwards of $50 billion to the cause. Today, the couple held a press event in San Francisco to announce their next big project: curing diseases. Indeed, it has pledged $3 billion over the next decade to cure, prevent and manage all diseases by the end of the century. Please if they can focus on cancer, it would be great. The rate at which that sickness is cutting young lives short is alarming.

They plan to do this with a three-pronged approach: 1) Bring scientists and engineers together, 2) Build tools and technology to empower the scientific community 3) Grow the movement to fund science. The first step is already underway, as the initiative has already started to partner with scientists, doctors, engineers and universities to achieve this goal. Leading this project is Dr. Cori Bargmann, who will become the initiative’s President of Science. A renowned neuroscientist and geneticist, she led the president’s BRAIN initiative.

“We spend about 50 times more treating people who are sick than we invest in research so you won’t get sick in the first place,” said Zuckerberg, adding that public support for this initiative matters. The first investment is in something called the Biohub, a facility that brings together a group of researchers and engineers from UCSF, Stanford and UC Berkeley to develop new tools to treat disease. It’ll serve as a central point for collaborations between experts across disciplines engineers, computer scientists, biologists, chemists and others. It will be led by Joseph DeRisi, a PhD in Biochemistry and Biophysics and Stephen Quake, a DPhil in Bioengineering and Applied Physics and Physics. They want to devise a means of detecting, responding, treating and preventing diseases such as Ebola, HIV and Zika. All of Biohub’s findings along with everything that is studied in the Chan Zuckerberg Science initiative  will be open source and available to all. “We have to be patient. This is hard stuff,” said Zuckerberg at the event. “This is about the future that we all want for our children. If there’s even a chance that we can cure all diseases, we have to do it. We have the opportunity to leave the world a much better place than when we found it.”

At the end of the event, Bill Gates made an appearance to lend his support to the initiative. He praised Zuckerberg and Chan for their ‘very bold and very ambitious” plan. Gates, who also has his own charitable organization the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation agreed with Chan and Zuckerberg that we need to fund science to help develop preventative tools like vaccines. “Their vision and generosity is inspiring a whole new generation of philantropists who will do amazing things,” he said. “We’re proud to say that we were here when Mark and Priscilla started this journey.””My heart is full of hope, and we are eager to get started,” said Chan to close out the event. “Let’s do this together. This is lovely.
